Lokesh Narsineni, PhD

Lokesh Narsineni graduated with a degree in pharmacy from TN Dr. MGR Medical University, India. He has also obtained his Master’s in pharmacy with a specialization in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery in 2013 from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, LPU, India. His thesis focused on the development of self-emulsifying drug delivery systems. Later in 2014 he joined as a PhD candidate in Prof. Dr. Marianna Foldvari’s lab at School of Pharmacy, University of Waterloo, Canada, and continued working on the development of peptide-modified gemini nanoplexes for gene delivery to the retina. He successfully defended his thesis in April 2020. He has also worked with a few pharmaceutical companies as a research and development scientist, involved in the development of transdermal macromolecule delivery systems, prior to moving to Vancouver. Currently, he is working as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Pieter Cullis at the University of British Columbia. His project at the Cullis lab in UBC is focused on the development of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) systems for ocular gene delivery to treat various neurodegenerative disorders.
